IMA France welcomes Al Husein Madhany for a special conference

Al-Husein loves people. And he is passionate about empowering you to fulfill your greatest potential. Al-Husein Madhany is Senior Consultant Coach at the Duncan Group (http://www.duncangroupinc.com), a retained search firm. The firm operates globally and offers expertise in four practice areas: recruitment, organizational consulting, coaching, and executive-level training for professional and personal assistants. Prior to joining the Duncan Group, Al-Husein was Chief of Staff to the PayPal Chief Human Resource Officer and the lead Executive Assistant to Facebook’s first Chief Information Officer.

In 2016, Al-Husein was awarded Best New Executive Assistant in all of Silicon Valley, by the Admin Awards Association. As a consummate connector and facilitator for diplomatic action, Al-Husein has served on the Council on Foreign Relations and was recently an Aspen Ideas Scholar. He also serves as one of five Global Ambassadors to the 2018 World Administrators Summit and sits on the advisory board of C-Suite Executive Support Professionals. Al-Husein is a Peabody and Emmy-nominated, award-winning documentary film producer (http://www.secretlifeofmuslims.com/), published author, and was previously a professor at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. With advanced degrees from Harvard and the University of Chicago, he consults internationally on the future of technology, business management, leadership development, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility.

In his free time, Al-Husein advises startups in Silicon Valley. He serves as Senior Advisor to Off the Chain Capital (http://offthechain.capital), a blockchain and cryptocurrency fund; Valens Global (http://valensglobal.com/), a threat analysis and information security startup; and Patheos.com (http://www.patheos.com/), a media education company focused on demystifying world religions.

1._**DEVELOPING A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP: ENSURING MUTUAL SUCCESS BY MANAGING UP

Today's executive assistants are called upon to drastically improve the productivity of an executive and of the organization as a whole. Learning how to manage one’s manager is key to anticipating needs and establishing open lines of communication. When executive assistants assert themselves as reliable business partners, leaders have an opportunity to delegate additional responsibilities and drive the business forward at a faster pace. In this high-level session, participants will learn how best to manage their executives and the core skills necessary in order to cement a solid business partnership with an executive and their team.

2.EARNING A SEAT AT THE TABLE: SHARPENING YOUR CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Successful leaders are critical thinkers possessing the ability to step outside their biases in order to see problems or situations from a new or different angle. Today’s executive assistants are called to lead, think, and act strategically and by educating themselves about the business, EAs can become key stakeholders within an organization. In this high-level session, participants will uncover critical thinking strategies to create a personalized problem-solving method for whatever task is at hand.

3.SHOW ME THE MONEY: KNOWING YOUR WORTH & GETTING REWARDED FOR EXCELLENCE

Executive assistants can find themselves frustrated with metric-driven performance evaluations, outdated job descriptions, and salary caps. Often, the exhaustive work completed behind the scenes by EAs cannot be measured by the traditional metric-driven evaluation, and EAs are underpaid as a result. Evaluating your worth and confidently communicating your value to management are vital skills for EAs in today’s fast-paced business environment. In his high-level session, participants will learn how to negotiate for a raise as well as negotiate for a higher starting salary in your new job.

4.NEW INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES & THE FUTURE OF OUR PROFESSION

Having spent over 10 years in Silicon Valley, and having worked for some of the hottest tech companies in the world, Al-Husein shares his insights on where our profession is headed and why. After reviewing the past 10 years of technological innovations, he imparts what is absolutely crucial for every Executive Assistant to understand about Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Autonomous Vehicles, Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things--and how these technologies will impact the future of the administrative profession.
